From 2 to 10 – sometimes things don’t quite go according to plan
I originally planned to stay at besecke for just two years. More than ten years later, I’m still here. How did that happen?
After completing my master’s degree in Aerospace and Technologies, I wanted to broaden my technical expertise and gain some hands-on experience in electrical engineering. That’s how I ended up joining the engineering design team at besecke.
My plan: Stay for two years, gain some experience, and then see what comes next.
Well, that plan didn’t quite work out.
The main reason? Definitely my team!
I’ve been here for over ten years now, and I think I’m still the “new guy” on the team – at least when it comes to how long we’ve all been here. That says quite a lot.
Another thing I really appreciate is the trust I’m given. I have the freedom to manage my projects independently, contribute my own ideas, and develop technical solutions together with my colleagues.
And when things get tricky or deadlines are tight, we support each other.
On top of that, I have managers who are always willing to listen, as well as the flexibility to balance my work and family life.
So what was supposed to be a temporary stop has unexpectedly turned into a long-term journey.
And after more than ten years, I can honestly say: I’m still happy to be here.
